Job Description

Steadfast Security Solutions, LLC is seeking full-time Alternative Transport Drivers for our Rocky Mount, VA location. The Drivers will be required to be registered as Unarmed Security Officers with the Department of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS) of Virginia. Training will be provided if needed. The Drivers will be stationed at the Rocky Mount, VA office and dispatched out to the Roanoke and Martinsville areas. The driver will be dispatched to various locations to pick up individuals under Temporary Detention Orders (TDOs) for our Custody Agents or Law Enforcement officers and transport the individual to specific facilities throughout the state of Virginia.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely transport individuals under Temporary Detention Orders (TDOs) to designated locations throughout the state of Virginia
• Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while operating the vehicle
• Conduct pre and post trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in proper working condition and all equipment is in vehicle
• Load and unload cargo as necessary (must be able to lift 50 lbs)
• Maintain accurate records of completed transports, including receipts and signatures
• Communicate with dispatch to receive transport instructions and updates
• Follow established routes and schedules to ensure timely transports
• Handle challenging situations that may arise during transport with strong conflict management skills
• De-escalate situations when needed

Requirements

• Must be registered as Unarmed Security Officer with the Department of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS) of Virginia - training will be provided if needed
• Valid state motor vehicle operator's License (Required)
• Must have a clean driving record and bring your Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) record to the interview
• High school diploma or GED (Required)
• Must be able to pass a background investigation and drug screening
• Must be able to pass random drug testing
• Strong conflict management skills to handle challenging situations and ability to de-escalate
• Must have excellent reading, writing, and communication skills (Required)
• Writing skills required
• Communication skills required
• Transportation safety regulations knowledge preferred
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs
• Must have reliable transportation to and from work
• Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and First Aid certification is desirable, or you will be trained
• Crisis Intervention Training (CIT) preferred, but training will be provided
• 1 year Unarmed Security and/or Transport experience (Required)
• Previous experience as a Transport Driver or in a similar position preferred
• Familiarity with security procedures is a plus
• English (Required)
• Ability to commute to Roanoke/Boones Mill, VA 24211 (Required)
• Ability to relocate to Roanoke, VA 24211 before starting work (Required)

Schedule

• Full-time position
• 12-hour shifts
• Day shift, Night shift, and Overnight shift available
• Monday to Friday
• Weekends as needed
• Holidays
• Overtime available
• Stationed at Rocky Mount, VA office
• Dispatched to Roanoke and Martinsville areas
